standin' and cruisin'

Jonah stood up in his crib for the first time yesterday. He was fussy yesterday so I didn't go get my camera, but today, he allowed me to snap a couple. Yay, Jonah! Another first!
"Hi Mommy!" (He didn't really say that, because that would require that he actually say the word "Mommy," and well, he just doesn't do that.)

"You're clapping. I did something good. I'm so proud of myself. Gooooo Jonah!"

"Enough with the pictures. Get me out of here!!!" (Insert completely fake and dramatic throw-back-head scream here.)

"Seriously, Mommy. Are you going to pick me up or not? Don't you love me anymore?"

Jonah had a great morning and a horrible afternoon. He was fussy so I decided to get him out of the house, hoping that would help. Right as we started down the basement steps, he puked everywhere, including in my hair, on my shoes, all down his clothes that I had just changed, and ALL OVER the floor. Frustrating to say the least. So by the time we got out, he was even fussier, cried all through Target and screamed on the way home. He rarely ever cries in the car. I knew he wasn't feeling well. I put him down for a second nap today, but it only made him feel worse. Finally, after some Tylenol and some tube dinner, he seemed to feel better. We got a pretty good hour with him before bedtime. Matt called it Roid Rage. I called it Monster Baby. Whatever it was, it wasn't pretty.

He slept great last night, but had a restless and coughy time during nap today. Hoping for a good night tonight and that the fussiness is more from teething than his croup/cold. Poor thing. He's just not himself. (And seriously, I have reached my vomit clean-up quota for the week. I'm so tired of puke I can barely stand it. I feel like I smell like vomit all the time... and Jonah kinda does.)

One cool thing that has happened gradually this week. Jonah is cruising the furniture - as in walking (sort of) with support. As in moving his feet in effort to change location. We are on our way, folks!!! Pulling up and cruising is a dangerous stage for my EB Sweetie. Note his right cheek. That happened yesterday in the time it took me to change the laundry from the washer to the dryer. He didn't fall hard at all. But it doesn't matter how hard he falls. It just matters if he rubs something on the way down. It's so frustrating, and I know this will be one of many, many "learning to walk" injuries. I'm not looking forward to it. It's just not practical (or good for him) that I stay within arm's reach at all times. Oh well. A necessary evil, I guess.

I'm very excited for the three day weekend with my two boys. We have dinner/bowling plans with some friends Saturday night, but other than that, we'll just be around. I'm hoping to get Jonah out some if he's feeling better. Besides the Target fiasco today, we haven't gotten out much except for doctor visits. It's supposed to be cooler too, so hopefully we can spend some time outdoors. Happy Weekend!
