So... do you LOVE it? I do. :)
I have really wanted to rename the blog for a while, but I just could not think of a good title. How do you sum up your life in just a few words? I wanted to pay tribute to Gabe in the title somehow and emphasize that although we have been through so much and it's been SO hard, we have found much happiness in our present and wait in hopeful expectation for the joy and promise of our future.
And any pain that Jonah feels or we feel is only for a little while.
I had thought and thought for weeks and asked my friends and siblings to help me come up with something. Nothing. (Or at least nothing that was right.) And then I was driving to my Girl's Night (can I get a 'what what') last month, and I heard this song on the radio.
Before the Morning - Josh Wilson
And the Holy Spirit just hit me in the face with the realization that this was the one as I listened to these words -
Do you wonder why you have to
Feel the things that hurt you
If there’s a God who loves you where is He now
Maybe there are things you can’t see
And all those things are happening
To bring a better ending
Someday somehow you’ll see you’ll see
Would you dare would you dare to believe
That you still have a reason to sing
Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It can’t compare to the joy that’s coming
So hold on you gotta wait for the light
Press on and just fight the good fight
Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the dark before the morning
My friend you know how this all ends
You know where you’re going
You just don’t know how you’ll get there
So say a prayer
And hold on cause there’s good for those who love God
But life is not a snapshot
It might take a little time but you’ll see the bigger picture
Once you feel the weight of glory
All your pain will fade to memory
It’s just the hurt before the healing
Oh the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the dark before the morning
(Shudders. Smiles. Sighs.)
I had found my blog title.
And the tagline I had decided on a couple weeks before, from these verses in 2 Corinthians 4:
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
And there you have it:
Before the Morning, Fixing our Eyes on the Unseen
Danielle (The Design Girl) did an awesome job and was so patient, even though I know I was a pain in the butt. Thank you so much, Danielle. You're great. :)
I hope you guys like it as much as I do. We all need a little more color in our lives, don't we? Thanks for continuing with us on this journey.
